The Palace of the Parliament is said to be the heaviest building in the world, weighing about 4.10 million tonnes.

Currently, it is the second largest administrative building around the globe, It took 700 architects to design and took over 13 years to be built.

'Big Ben', the large clock found in the Elizabeth Click Tower is one of the most important parts of the Houses of Parliament. The Palace was damaged by air raids on 14 different occasions during World War II but survived.

The Capitol building has more than 540 rooms and 658 windows. Visitors can watch Congress in Session by obtaining gallery passes before proceeding to shop and dine among a variety of activities as part of the Capitol tour.

Constructed in 1793, under the leadership of then President George Washington, The Capitol was captured and burnt by the invading British forces in 1814. Not only was it fully restored within five years, but it was never seized by any foreign power ever since.
