​Who is Jack Dorsey​

Jack Dorsey is the former CEO of microblogging and social media platform Twitter. Dorsey was CEO of Twitter from 2015 to 2021. He was succeeded by Parag Agarwal in 2021, who was later removed by Elon Musk in 2022 after a $44 Billion acquisition.

​High School Student and Part-time Model​

During his time as a student at Bishop DuBourg High School, Dorsey also worked as a part-time fashion model.

​Jack Dorsey Dropped Out of College TWICE

Dorsey joined the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1995. He attended the university for two years and then transferred to New York University in 1997. He dropped out of NYU in 1999.

​Idea of Twitter came at NYU

During his time at NYU, Dorsey came up with the basic concept of Twitter. He left NYU in 1999 and was just one semester short of graduating.

​Begins Career as a Programmer​

Dorsey began to work on dispatching as a programmer. He secured this job by hacking the security system of the company - Dispatch Management Services Corp - and then emailed the company's manager regarding fixing the hack.

​​Working at Odeo​

The original project code name for Twitter was - twttr. The first prototype was developed by Dorsey and Florian Weber during their time as Odeo - a podcasting company.

Twitter was launched in March 2006 and was created by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone and Evan Williams.

In 2015, Jack Dorsey took over as the Chief Executive Officer and remained in the position till 2021. In 2021, he was succeeded by Parag Agarwal.
