After the death of 118-year-old Lucile Randon (France), the Guinness World Record confirmed that María Branyas Morera is now the world’s oldest woman living and oldest person living.

María Branyas Morera is 115

According to Guinness World Records, Morera is 115 years and 321 days old, as of 19 January 2023. She became the world’s oldest living person after the death of 118-year-old Lucile Randon.

When was María Branyas Morera born?

Morera was born on 4 March 1907, in San Francisco, California, one year after her parents emigrated to the country. Eight years later, they decided to return to Spain, where they settled in Catalonia, as per Guinness World Record.

Survived both World Wars

María Branyas Morera (115) survived both World Wars, the Spanish Civil War, and the Spanish Flu pandemic, María also fought off Covid-19 in 2020, as per the Guinness World Records.
