Cyclone Biparjoy Latest News Update: After Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued red alert for coastal areas of Saurashtra and Kutch , high-speed winds, heavy rains triggered by very severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy caused destruction in parts of coastal areas of Gujarat.
Taking to Twitter, IMD said, "Cyclone Warning for Saurashtra & Kutch Coasts: RED MESSAGE. VSCS BIPARJOY at 0830 IST of today over NE Arabian Sea near lat 21.9N & long 66.3E,about 280km WSW of Jakhau Port (Gujarat) and 290km WSW of Devbhumi Dwarka. To cross near Jakhau Port by evening of 15th June as VSCS@WMO."
Destruction Caused In Porbandar
Porbandar on Wednesday witnessed heavy rainfall , caused by the incoming of very severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy. Several trees were uprooted in Porbandar, disrupting traffic.

Evacuation Operation Underway To Shift People to Safer Areas
Government has evacuated nearly 37,800 people, who were living in the eight coastal districts of Gujarat, to safer areas.
Trains Cancelled In Parts Of Gujarat
Trains, either originating or terminating in the coastal areas of Gujarat, will remain cancelled or short-terminated till July 15. Due to this, about 95 trains were cancelled in the region , according to Western Railways.
