CBSE or Central Board of Secondary Education is India’s largest national level education board. Its origin goes back to 1917 when UP Board of High School and Intermediate Education was set up. Over the years, however, the UP Board was converted into the Central Board of Secondary Education as more and more provinces joined the board. Today, it is the largest board of the country – in terms of the geographical expanse.

The board is at present responsible for setting the curriculum and syllabus for secondary – Classes 9 and 10 as well as Senior Secondary – Classes 11 and 12. The board conducts examinations for Classes 10 and 12. Apart from the board exams, CBSE also conducted Central Teacher Eligibility Test or CTET.

From this year, 2021-22, CBSE has started term wise examinations. The board has split the syllabus into two equal terms – Term 1 and Term 2. Term 1 was conducted in MCQ format in November – December 2021. Term 2 would be a subjective examination and would be conducted in April- May. Performance of the students in both the terms would be computed and the final CBSE Class 10, 12 Result 2022 would be released by the board.
