ASHISH NEHRA

Not many can have a career like Ashish Nehra. He remains to be one of the longest-serving pacers in the history of Indian cricket. But Nehra only played 17 Tests, 120 ODIs and 27 T20Is from 1999 to 2017, the year in which he retired. His career was marred by injuries and the left-arm pacer spent ample time on the sidelines.

He is a one-time World Cup winner and was part of the MS Dhoni-led side that defeated Sri Lanka to lift the trophy in 2011. 8 years before this final, he played under Sourav Ganguly when India made it to the final of the 2003 WC. Nehra's 6-for in 2003 World Cup fixture against England was probably his finest day in international cricket.

Nehra didn't play an ODI after 2011 WC. In January 2016, he made a dramatic return in the T20I team and went to Australia as the leader of the pace attack. A couple of months later, he also played in a T20 World Cup. He was benched towards the end of 2017 and a series later, Nehra retired at his home ground (Delhi).

Just days after retiring from professional cricket, Nehra took up commentary and coaching. He had started his coaching career with Royal Challengers Bangalore and is now associated with Gujarat Titans in IPL.
