A 40-year-old man killed his wife suspecting infidelity in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district on Saturday. The accused has been identified as Krishnapal Lodhi. He was out of jail after his 32-year-old wife Pooja recently secured bail for him.

Bareilly: A 40-year-old man killed his wife suspecting infidelity in Uttar Pradesh 's Bareilly district on Saturday. The accused has been identified as Krishnapal Lodhi. He was out of jail after his 32-year-old wife Pooja recently secured bail for him.
Krishnapal reportedly shot his wife dead in a busy marketplace in Fatehganj west area of the district. According to a report published in The Times of India , Krishnapal fired several bullets at Pooja. He also shot Pooja's friend Munna.
Munna is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital. Pooja's body has been sent for autopsy. Soon after the incident, the accused was arrested. During interrogation, Krishnapal told the police that he suspected that his wife was cheating on him and he had no regrets for killing her.
Notably, Krishpal helped with Pooja in 2012 and married each other against the will of their families, reported TOI. Pooja used to run a beauty parlour. Earlier also, the accused was arrested in an attempt to murder case.
Meanwhile, as Pooja's mother, Krishanpal has become an alcoholic and used to beat her daughter every night. "On Saturday, Krishnapal came home in an inebriated state and started hurling abuses at Pooja in front of their minor sons. When she confronted him, he got infuriated and took out a country-made pistol. Pooja panicked and ran out of the house but he chased her and shot her dead," said the deceased's mother as quoted by the media house.
The police registered an FIR against Krishanpal under Sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.
