With the widespread usage of social media, most people are cautious about scams. Unfortunately, there are many innocent people still falling into the traps laid out by brilliant fraudsters. One man from China fell victim to such an experience. He was tricked by a hair salon into paying Rs 1.15 lakh for a haircut instead of just Rs 230. The man was forced to take out a loan. Yes, you heard that right!
It all started after the man, whose surname is Li, got a Beijixing Hair Salon gift card worth Rs 230 from his friend. The restaurant worker from Hangzhou, eastern China’s Zhejiang province, decided to make use of the voucher. Consequently, he approached the hair salon. On showing the voucher to the employees, they told him that they would give him a head massage.

Later, an employee applied a skin lotion on Li's face. The worker also indicated that the lotion bottle was worth Rs 4,582 per bottle. Soon after, the restaurant worker was approached by the manager of the salon. The manager encouraged Li to buy another gift card worth Rs 57,571 to access other additional benefits.
Then, the salon workers proceeded to give the man a haircut. Prior to getting his haircut, they presented him with a price list. However, Li was unable to see the prices as he was not wearing his specs.
At the end of the haircut, Li was shocked to see the bill of Rs 1.15 lakh. Li immediately told the salon employees that he did not have enough money to pay the. It is then that they came up with a plan. They asked the man to apply for an instant loan. Recollecting the incident, Li stated that several salon workers forced him to apply for an instant loan on his phone. One employee then took his phone away and applied for a loan under his name.
It is only then that Li realized he was conned by the salon. Subsequently, he contacted a local TV network to tell his story, hoping he would retrieve the money lost. As per reports, the salon has remained closed since the incident.
