Earthquake news today: A 5.4 magnitude earthquake jolted Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. The data released by the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said that the tremors were felt in the UT at 1.33 p.m. "The epicentre of the earthquake was in Doda region of Jammu division. It occurred 30 kms inside the earth's crust. Its coordinates are latitude 33.12 degrees north and longitude 75.98 degrees east," officials said. Images and videos flooded social media platforms and showed cracks on buildings. People were also seen rushing out of their homes on the streets. Check out some of the videos below.

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the earthquake had a depth of 60 km and its epicentre was situated 99 km north of Pathankot in Punjab. Tremors were also felt in Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar in Pakistan, as well as in the villages of Bagh, Dhirkot, and Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
