New Delhi: A message has been doing rounds on social media claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central government will provide free solar stoves to all women with a guarantee of 10 years. The poster further claims that the decision has been taken under the Free Cooking Stove scheme.
Government's fact check agency PIB Fact Check debunked the claim on its Twitter handle and said that the claim is fake. Further, it clarified that no such scheme is being run by the central government.
"Claim: Under the Free Cooking Stove scheme, the government will provide free solar stoves to all women with a guarantee of 10 years. #PIBFactCheck. This claim is fake. No such scheme is being run by the central government," the tweet said.

In another news, the PIB fact checked a viral claim saying the Aadhaar card holders will get a Rs 3,00,000 loan under Pradhan Mantri Loan Yojana (scheme).
“It is being claimed that the central government is providing a loan of ₹3,00,000 to all Aadhaar card owners,” PIB wrote, sharing a picture of the misleading message being circulated on the internet. The PIB also asked people to not share their Aadhaar-related information with anyone without checking the facts properly.
In a bid to curb misinformation and fake news prevalent on the internet, the Press Information Bureau launched this fact-checking arm in December 2019. The website claims “to identify misinformation related to government’s policies and schemes that are circulating on various social media platforms”.
