Will There Be A Lockdown In May? A video claiming that the Central government will once again impose a lockdown owing to the spike in COVID cases has gone viral. A Youtube channel named Daily Trending News has uploaded this post where the claim was made. The video claimed that there will be a nationwide lockdown in the month of May as coronavirus cases are once again on the rise. However, the PIB's fact-check team found this news to be FAKE.

Yes, the COVID cases have once again shown a spike in recent months but the overall situation is under control as the symptoms are minor and very low fatality rate.
CLAIM: The government will impose a lockdown in May due to the rise in COVID Cases.
FACT: The video is FAKE. There's no such plan on behalf of the government as the situation is very much in control.
The fact-check team found the video claiming that there will be a fresh lockdown in May as FAKE and Misleading. The PIB team has warned people against such fake news and advised them not to circulate such information without verifying the claims.
Meanwhile, India on Thursday logged 9,335 COVID cases in 24 hours, 2.8 per cent lower than yesterday.
