In this episode of India Upfront, host Rahul Shivshankar will discuss how after a few Hindu girls were supposedly depicted in viral social media posts donning the hijab, which sparked the debate surrounding the Damoh school. In response to claims that female pupils at Ganga Jamuna School in the Damoh district were being compelled to wear a headscarf, the Madhya Pradesh government has filed a formal complaint against the school's administration. According to sources, the school administration has been charged with violating Sections 295 of the Indian Penal Code (Injuring or defiling a place of worship with the aim to offend the religion of any class) and Sections 506 (Punishment for Criminal Intimidation) as well as the Juvenile Justice Act. A high-level investigation into a recent hijab dispute involving a private school in the Damoh district has been requested by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of Madhya Pradesh. We are joined by a few panelists expressing their views on this issue. “Ganga-Jamuna bol kar Ganga bhi le li aur Jamuna bhi. They kept saying 'Bhai-Chara', 'Bhai-Chara'. Are ye to bata dete ke Bhai kon hai aur Chara kon?'. Tagore said that two religions are intent on destroying all other religions, which are,” stated Anand Ranganathan, AuthorListen In!#madhyapradesh #damohhijabrow #gangajamunaschool #chiefminister #shivrajsinghchouhan #islamisation #juvelinejusticeact #timesnowshow #indiaupfront #rahulshivshankar
