Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has chosen Hardik Pandya, the renowned Indian cricketer and Gujarat Titans captain as the brand ambassador for its upcoming SUV, the Exter.
HMIL's Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Tarun Garg, expressed his excitement about the collaboration. He further stated how the SUV offers a perfect blend of style, performance, and value, and should surpass consumer expectations.
The Hyundai Exter’s exterior has already been revealed. Its engine specs and interior, along with its price will be unveiled on July 10. Bookings have already commenced.
Garg further explained that Pandya was chosen due to his remarkable on-field leadership and strong family values. These qualities are ideal to represent the symbolic image of the Hyundai EXTER. The company aims to connect with the Gen Z audience through Pandya's association.
In response to his appointment, Hardik Pandya expressed his enthusiasm for partnering with Hyundai and his admiration for the Hyundai EXTER SUV. “I am very passionate about cars and this SUV fits into my style perfectly. It is spacious and stunning inside, dynamic on the outside, and loaded with all that you need to venture outside,” the cricketer exclaimed in the press release.
Mechanically, the Exter will be powered by the marque’s 1.2-liter petrol engine and will be paired to MT or an AMT variant. The Exter is based on the same platform that also underpins the Grand i10 NIOS and the Aura.
It will be available in five trim levels primarily - EX, S, SX, SX(O), and top-spec SX(O) Connect. It will primarily compete against the Tata Punch and Citroen C3. So, it remains to be seen the exact price range Hyundai plans to launch the Exter at.
