A day after Australia’s win in the final of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 over India by 209 runs, the International Cricket Council (ICC) took to Twitter to share a picture of five players who have managed to win an ICC trophy in all three formats of the game. The ICC organises the ODI World Cup and Champions Trophy in 50-over format, the T20 World Cup in 20-over format, and the World Test Championship in the Test format of the game, and by starring in Australia’s win on Sunday (June 11) at the Oval in London, Test and ODI captain Pat Cummins, opening batter David Warner, former skipper Steve Smith, and pacer duo Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood became the first set of players who have managed to achieve this unique feat.
These five star cricketers won the ODI World Cup under Michael Clarke’s leadership in 2015, when the tournament was jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand in February and March, and ended Australia’s 14-year wait for the first T20 World Cup title in 2021, when under Aaron Finch’s captaincy they defeated Kane Williamson’s New Zealand in the final to become champions.
Here’s the post by ICC:

Starc was the leading wicket-taker for Australia in the 2015 ODI World Cup and won the Player of the Tournament award, whereas David Warner scored a fifty in the 2021 T20 World Cup final. Smith scored an unbeaten 56 in the final of the 2015 ODI World Cup, which was played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, and made 121 runs in the first innings of the WTC 2023 final. Hazlewood didn’t play in the final of WTC 2023 but picked up three wickets in the summit clash of the 2021 T20 World Cup, whereas skipper Cummins, who wasn’t included in the playing XI of the 2015 ODI World Cup final, picked up a total of four wickets (3+1) in the WTC 2023 final.
The next target for these five players now will be to go on and win the Champions Trophy in 2025 and complete the set of winning all four ICC trophies.
