New Delhi: Two Instagram influencers were nabbed with cocaine worth $3 million in their SUV which they drove through Alabama earlier this month. The cocaine was packed into secret compartments of their car. The two influencers have been identified as Racquelle Marie Dolores Anteola and Melissa Dufour.
Racquelle Marie Dolores Anteola is a singer and rapper who is popular by the name c on Instagram and has over 118,000 followers on the social media platform. Melissa Dufour is a fitness entrepreneur who runs a clothing line called Sexy Sweats and has more than 10,000 followers. The duo now face a minimum 10 years behind bars on federal drug trafficking charges after their June 1 arrests.
Anteola and Dufour were arrested on Interstate 110 near Mobile, Ala., for a traffic violation when a K-9 indicated drugs might be in their vehicle, according to court papers. The duo claimed that they met up in Miami and then drove together to Houston for a house party where they got “very drunk,” before heading to Atlanta.
As police officials combed through their Black Ford Expedition car, they found several hidden compartments concealing 216 pounds of cocaine packed in 84 bundles.
The car had been modified to hide the drugs, with the floor “lowered and welded back together” to make room for the illicit substances, prosecutors claimed in the Alabama Federal Court filing.
