Rain refuses to relent in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) final, as the summit clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) has been hit by rain just minutes after the second innings started. Defending champions GT posted a massive score of 214 on the board as the Hardik-Pandya-led side looked favourites for a second title in as many years.
Rain is set to complicate the situation as the game now faces the risk of being decided by the Duckworth and Lewis System (DLS) system. CSK had just four runs on the board in three balls when the players were taken off the field as the groundsmen rushed to the ground with the covers.
When can the match start without losing overs?
The match can start without overs being lost for another two overs, which would mean a time of about 12 a.m. IST. The original cut-off time for a five-over match was 12:06 AM IST, and if needed, a super over could start by 12:50 AM IST Final cut-off time for a five-over match was 12:06 AM IST, and if needed, a super over could start by 12:50 AM IST.
