Not only are the plants and trees considered sacred, but their leaves and fruits are also used during the worship or for making offerings to deities, like banana leaves, mango leaves, basil leaves.
Apart from this, one must have seen people trying a Kalava around these plants and trees as part of the worship. Tying Kalava or Molly in the hand also has special significance in Hinduism.
According to astrology, there are some special trees and plants in which tying of the kalava brings the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi upon those devotees and also helps get rid of planetary defects from that persons life.

Money Plant

Banyan Tree
