In this episode of The Newshour Debate, host Navika Kumar will discuss how the school textbooks are being modified by the Congress-led Karnataka administration, setting off a political brawl between the government and the BJP-led opposition. A chapter about the founder of the RSS, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, will be deleted by the Karnataka government. According to a report, the Class 10 Kannada textbook would no longer have a chapter on Dr. Hedgewar, which the previous BJP administration included in the state curriculum. The decision was allegedly made during a meeting for educational reforms in Bengaluru between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa. The Karnataka government's decision to update the curriculum with the intention of excluding Sangh's contribution has drawn criticism from the BJP. In its election campaign, the Congress party pledged to reverse the alterations made to the curriculum by the previous BJP administration. We are joined by a few panelists expressing their views on this issue. “It was BJP which introduced a fifth chapter in the 10th standar syllabus which entitle who should be your role model a speech of Dr. Hedgewar was mentioned over there,” stated Lokesh Jindal, Congress.Listen In!#karnataka #chiefminister #siddaramaiah #educationminister #madhubangarappa #nationaleducationpolicy #textbookrevisionrow #RSS #keshavbaliramhedgewar #bharatiyajantaparty #timesnowshow #thenewshourdebate #navikakumar
