A massive fire broke out in a building in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal on Monday. The blaze erupted on the third floor of the building. After receiving the information, 15 fire tenders reached the spot.

Bhopal: A massive fire broke out in a building in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal on Monday. The blaze erupted on the third floor of a government building, Satpura Bhawan. Around 30 fire tenders are present at the spot. A firefighting operation is currently underway. The blaze reportedly spread from the third to the sixth floor.

Senior officials have also rushed to the spot. Staff present inside the building have been rescued. The reason of the blaze is yet to be ascertained. No casualties have been reported due to the fire. Notably, the building houses various government offices.

Army personnel are also helping local administration and Fire Services department in the operation to douse a massive fire at the Satpura Bhawan building. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the formation of a four-member committee to probe the preliminary reason for the fire at Satpura Bhawan.

Chouhan also talked to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and sought help of the Air Force to douse the fire that broke out at Satpura Bhawan. According to CMO, Singh directed the Air Force to deploy AN-32 aircraft and MI-15 choppers in the firefighting operation.

AN 52 aircraft and MI 15 helicopter will try to extinguish the fire by pouring water from the top of the building. Bhopal airport will remain open through the night.

The Collector of Bhopla, Ashish Singh, said, "30-40 fire tenders are present on the spot to douse the fire. We hope that the fire will be brought under control soon. About 8-10 jawans are also present on the spot. There has been no loss of life." Notably, the Satpura Bhawan is located in front of the MP Secretariat Vallabh Bhawan.
