MHADA, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority, has made an adjustment to the advertised number of apartments for the MHADA Lottery 2023 Mumbai, according to the Magic Bricks. One residential unit, located in Dadar, Mumbai, has been dropped from the lottery due to an ongoing litigation issue. As a result, the updated count of advertised units for the MHADA Mumbai Lottery stands at 4,082. This modification comes as MHADA received an overwhelming response, with over 23,000 applications submitted thus far.
The report added that the dropped apartment, a 750 sq. ft. MIG Group Apartment priced at over Rs. 2 crore, faced a legal challenge from an individual who claimed their rights to the property based on a previous lottery allocation. Consequently, the litigation surrounding the apartment prevented its sale in the current lottery.
MHADA officials acknowledged the legal hurdles and expressed their inability to proceed with the sale due to the ongoing dispute. The authority remains committed to maintaining a fair and transparent process for the lottery, ensuring that all eligible applicants have an equal opportunity to secure affordable housing.
To date, MHADA has received over 16,000 applications for the affordable housing units offered in the MHADA Lottery 2023 Mumbai, with more than 7,000 applicants having already paid the deposit amount. The registration period for the housing scheme is open until June 26, 2023, allowing eligible individuals to apply.
According to the Magic Bricks, following the closure of registration, the lucky draw for the MHADA Lottery Mumbai will take place on July 18, 2023. The affordable housing units available range in size from 204 sq. ft. to 1,531 sq. ft., with prices varying between Rs. 24 lakh and Rs. 7.57 crore.
The applicants can apply on housing.mhada.gov.in or mhada.gov.in website.
Out of the total number of applicants, 6,214 have been confirmed for participation in the lucky draw, having successfully paid the deposit amount for their chosen MHADA Mumbai Lottery Scheme. With three applicants vying for each residential unit, the draw will be held at Rangsharda Hall in Bandra, Mumbai, on July 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM.
