OBD2 Compliant Honda Dio Launched, Gains New Variant And Several New Features: 5 Highlights

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced the all-new OB2 Compliant 2023 Dio starting from Rs. 70,211 (ex-showroom Delhi).

2023 Honda Dio: Variants And Prices

It is now available in three variants. The base-spec standard variant starts from Rs 70,211 and it is available with three colour options: Sport Red2, Jazzy Blue Metallic and Mat Axis Grey Metallic. This is followed by the mid-spec Deluxe variant priced at Rs 74,212 and available in Dazzle Yellow Metallic, Mat Axis Grey Metallic and Mat Sangria Red Metallic.

Finally, the new Dio Smart variant is priced from Rs 77,712 onwards, and it is available with Pearl Igneous Black, Mat Sangria Red Metallic, and a new Mat Dark Blue Metallic available exclusively with this variant.

2023 Honda Dio: New Smart FeaturesAs you can guess from its name, the new variant gets Honda’s new Smart Key System that debuted with the Activa. As part of this technology the scooter gets features like Smart Find (locates the scooter by causing all four indicators to blink), Smart Unlock (allows riders to lock and unlock the vehicle without a physical key), Smart Start (enables riders to start the vehicle by rotating the knob on the Loc Mod to the ignition position and pushing the start button) and a Smart Safe feature ensures the scooter's security by electronically matching the ID between the ECU and SMART Key, preventing unauthorized starting of the engine.

At the heart of the 2023 Dio is powered by Honda's tried and tested 110cc PGM-FI engine, which is now BSVI OBD2 compliant. It produces 7.64bhp and 8.90Nm of torque.

2023 Honda Dio: New Instrument Cluster

The Dio now also features a fully digital meter that provides real-time information such as range, average fuel efficiency, and real-time fuel efficiency, enhancing the riding experience. It also includes features like Total Trip, Clock, and Service Due Indicator. Additionally, the scooter is equipped with a Side Stand Indicator with Engine Inhibitor, preventing the engine start while the side stand is engaged for added safety.

2023 Honda Dio: Design Upgrades

The design of the Dio has also been refreshed, with redesigned front ribs, a signature LED Position Lamp, a modern tail lamp, new alloy wheels, a sport split grab rail, and updated graphics and logos. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and a 3-step adjustable rear shock absorber.
