Before the protest, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Kirodi Meena accused Gehlot of corruption. He also vowed to expose corruption in the Gehlot government. Meena claimed that there was a scam of Rs 5,000 crore in the Department of Information and Technology (DoIT), reported NDTV. He further alleged that Gehlot was not allowing Anti-Corruption Bureau to investigate the matter.
Notably, the REET exam was conducted on September 26, 2020. However, the question papers were leaked two days before the scheduled date of the exam.
Earlier this month, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at various locations in connection with the matter. The raids were conducted at 27 locations including, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Ajmer. Meanwhile, Gehlot accused the Centre of misusing the probe agencies.
ED had initiated an investigation under PMLA, 2002 on the basis of predicate offence of paper leak cases registered by Rajasthan Police in Senior Teacher Grade II examination conducted by RPSC and REET examination under various sections of IPC, an official said as reported by ANI.
During the probe, it was revealed that suspected people were leaking the question papers of the Senior Teacher Grade II examination conducted by RPSC and REET examination.
