Thought You Were...: Yuvraj Singh's Comment On Shubman Gill's Pic With Man City's Haaland & De Bruyne Goes Viral

Star Indian opening batter Shubman Gill is in London these days as he travelled with the Indian team for the ICC World Test Championship 2023 final, which took place at the Oval in London last week. In the one-off match, Gill failed to fire in both innings, and India suffered a humiliating defeat by 209 runs to lose the second WTC final in a row. The 23-year-old batter, who has been in red-hot form this year and was coming into the WTC 2023 final after winning the Orange Cap in IPL 2023, where he scored 890 runs in 17 matches, could only muster 13 and 18 runs in two innings against Australia. He was caught by Cameron Green in the second inning in a contoversial manner, which invited strong reactions from several greats of the game, and he also took to social media to show his dissent. But for that, he had to face ICC sanctions and was slapped with a heavy fine.

Even though the WTC 2023 final ended on Sunday, some of the Indian players extended their stay in England for a couple of more days, which gave Gill a chance to meet the likes of Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne. The star football duo, who play for Manchester City in the Premier League, recently won the UEFA Champions League title, and Gill took the opportunity to pose for a photo with them.

After Man City players arrived back in England from Istanbul, where they ended the long wait to win their first-ever European title, Gill met the Cityzens and congratulated them for winning the CL. He took to Instagram to share a couple of pictures, one of which was with De Bruyne and the other with Haaland, and captioned them, "Congratulations @kevindebruyne and @erling.haaland for winning the treble #TeamNike."

But the highlight of Gill’s post was the hilarious comment posted by former Indian all-rounder and Gill’s mentor, Yuvraj Singh. The hero of India’s ODI World Cup in 2011 and T20 World Cup win in 2007, took a dig at the Punjab-based youngster by writing, "I thought u were a psg fan?" Gill's Punjab Ranji teammate Mayank Markande also mocked him by saying, "Bro har roz he team change ho jandi aa teri #nostand."

Gill, who is quite active on social media, was spotted at Chelsea’s match last year and is believed to be a big supporter of French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain, which has the likes of players like Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Before meeting Haaland and De Buryne, Gill, along with Virat Kohli and his actor-wife Anushka Sharma, had travelled to Wembley to watch Pep Guardiola’s men play against Manchester United in the FA Cup final, which they won 2-1.
