Video: Dutch YouTuber Manhandled by Shopkeeper in Bengaluru's Chor Bazar

Dutch YouTuber, Pedro Mota, was manhandled by a trader in Bengaluru's busy market while he was recording a video in Chikpet's Chor Bazar. As per the vlogger's clarification, the incident is said to have occurred in March and the video was uploaded by him on Sunday.

Bengaluru: A Dutch vlogger was manhandled by a trader in Chickpet in Bengaluru. The accused, probably a shopkeeper, aggressively pulled the youtuber's hand while he was trying to record a video in the city's busy market.
Video of this uncalled for incident with Youtuber, Pedro Mota, at Bangalore's Chor Bazar (Theives market)has gone viral on social media and is receiving wide criticism .
Pedro who has two YouTube channels with a total of nearly 1 lakh subscribers shared the video titled "Attacked At The Thieves Market In India" on his channel Madly Rover sharing the video of the attack and his experience.
"Foreigner traveling in India experiences the thieves market in Bangalore, also known as the sunday market or chor bazaar. But exploring the area started out on the wrong foot as an angry man attacked me by grabbing and twisting my hand and arm, lunging after me as I tried to escape. After I had some street food, met great local Indian people and haggled for a new buttoned shirt," he wrote in the video description.
However, Vlogger (victim) has now edited his comment to clarify that he recorded video of this incident in March 2023 and he uploaded it on YouTube yesterday.
"It's a old video which has come into circulation now. The person harassing in the video has been identified traced and action taken. No scope for such highhandedness in Naamma Bengaluru against anybody," the Bengaluru," B. Dayananda Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru City said.

After video went viral, today, Bengaluru police arrested accused man named Navab Hayath Sharif for harassing the vlogger.
This is not the first time foreign YouTubers/ social media influencers have been harrowed while in public in India. Similar incidents have previously been reported in Maharashtra and Rajasthan as well.
