Staff and customers of a restaurant in China's Hubei Province were sent flying into the air after they failed to hold down a canopy during a heavy storm.
The canopy was installed to keep the diners safe from harsh weather. But it wasn't strong enough for the gusts of wind that struck the city of Yichang in China’s Hubei province on June 11.
A viral footage posted on video-sharing app Douyin shows strong winds sweeping away the canopy cover along with several people who were trying to hold down the metal struts.
According to a report by South China Morning Post, one staff member landed on the rooftop while the owner suffered rib cage injuries. Several people ended up in the hospital.
