Kerala Horror: Mute 11-Year-Old Boy Mauled To Death By Stray Dogs In Kannur's Muzhappilangad

This is not the first instance of stray menace making news in Kerala. Earlier in September, a man made news after he escorted children to a local madrassa in the Kasaragod district carrying a gun. His explanation was that stray attacks had become unbearable and that students face difficulties in walking on the road.

Kannur: A 11-year-old mute boy was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs in Kerala's Kannur district on Sunday. The boy was missing since Sunday evening and was later found unconscious on a secluded ground.
The victim was identified as Nihal Nishad of Kannur's Muzhappilangad. The severely injured boy was found by a search party of locals later in the evening after they set out to locate the mute child. He never came back home after leaving for his Sunday outdoor fun, reports said.
The secluded ground was situated at least half a kilometre away from Nihal Nishad's house. It is suspected that the strays dragged the boy to the spot following the attack, Malayala Manorama said in a report.
He was declared brought dead by the doctors at the hospital where he was rushed to. Bite marks were found across the body of the child who was handicapped, the news report added. The police visited the spot and conducted an inquest.

In another incident reported from Kerala's Kozhikode on September 13, a 12-year-old boy was brutally attacked at Arakkinar village. The video of the dog attack also became viral on social media. A day earlier of this incident, five persons including two children were attacked by a pack of stray dogs in the village.
