Chennai: The India Meteorological Department's (IMD) Regional Meteorological Centre has forecast rains in Tamil Nadu and parts of Chennai for the next 5 days. The rains are likely to be due to a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal.
The IMD has predicted light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on June 13 and 14. The weather is likely to be partly cloudy with a few spells of rain on June 15 and 16. There is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places on June 17.
The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and Chengalpattu districts for June 13 and 14. This means that there is a possibility of moderate rain at isolated places.
