The meeting which began just after 10 am is being seen as a preparation for Prime Minister Modi’s visit later this month.

New Delhi: Discussions between National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his American counterpart Jake Sullivan tomorrow morning at Hyderabad House will be on global, regional and bilateral issues.
The two-hour meeting will have discussions on the situation in the Ukraine as part of the “global” segment, China, the Indo-Pacific and cross-border terrorism as parts of the “regional” issues and the Modi visit as part of the “bilateral” bit. The meeting begins just after 10 am and is seen as a preparation for Prime Minister Modi’s visit later this month.
Speaking on the India-U.S. Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies or iCET today, Doval, described by US Ambassador Eric Garcetti as an “international treasure,” said the agreement on iCET “was an orbital jump to our strategic relationship.” He said it would make strategic trade easier, investment opportunities clearer and he lauded his counterpart Jake Sullivan’s idea to bring the private sector into the plan.

Sullivan added iCET, signed several months ago in the United States, would deepen defence cooperation, remove barriers and bring about closer cooperation in areas like clean energy, semiconductors and biotechnology. There will be closer ties in areas like science and technology, education and business. It has ensured that technology will bring both countries closer, not keep them apart.
