Amit Prakash of Greater Kailash-II reportedly works for a company in Gurgaon's Golf Course Road. On Friday evening, the 30-year-old decided to hit a bar as his hard-earned weekly offs had finally arrived.
Night filled with comedy of errors
According to Amit Prakash, he consumed so much alcohol on Friday night that he misread the MRP of a Rs 2000-worth bottle as Rs 20,000 and made the payment! He realised the blunder when Rs 18,000 was returned to him by the shop owner, the Times Of India (TOI) said in a report.
It was then a stranger approached him and asked to join him for drinks. The two grew a bond over drinks and later left the place together. Amit Prakash offered the stranger a ride, and he readily accepted. When the duo reached Huda City, the stranger asked Amit Prakash to exit the car, and forgetting that it was his vehicle, he got down, the TOI report said. As the man drove away in his car, Amit took a Metro back home. It was only a day later that the very drunk man came to his senses and realised what happened!
Little too late

The police said on Sunday registered a case against the unidentified man under Section 379 (theft) of the IPC and have launched a probe based on CCTV footage in the area. The investigation team said Amit Prakash was little help to identify the accused as he was "unable to recall details" about the accused, the news report added.
